Refreshed competency criteria for Lead Auditor, Internal Auditor and Lead Implementer certifications.
Exemplar Global — the world's largest personnel certification body for management system auditors — has published refreshed competency criteria effective 1 July 2026. The update reflects the realities of modern auditing: remote and hybrid audits are now the norm, AI tools are entering evidence review workflows, and ethical conduct expectations have risen sharply.
Headline changes
- Remote auditing techniques are now a mandatory competency element across all auditor grades.
- Use of AI-assisted evidence review must be performed under documented human oversight.
- Strengthened ethics module — including conflict of interest, confidentiality and impartiality scenarios.
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements increased from 15 to 20 hours per year.
Impact on existing credentials
Auditors certified before 1 July 2026 retain their credentials but must complete a short transition CPD module by their next recertification date. MEGADEMİ delegates can access this module free of charge through their training portal.
New pathway: AI Management Systems Auditor
Following ISO/IEC 42001 uptake, Exemplar Global has launched a dedicated AI Management Systems Auditor credential with prerequisites covering AI lifecycle, data governance and algorithmic impact assessment.
MEGADEMİ is among the first registered training providers worldwide to deliver fully aligned 2026 syllabi across all five disciplines — Quality, Environment, Information Security, Occupational Health & Safety, and AI Management.
